@lyniehall – True, the Olympics, in a perfect world, would not be about politics. But the fact is they have ALWAYS been about politics. 1936 was used by Hitler to promote Nazism, 1972 had the murder of Isreali athlets, the 1980 boycott led by the US and the 1984 boycott led by the Soviet Union. Since we do not live in a perfect world, you have to make the best of the time you have to represent your individual nation and hope each athlete is safe and does his/her best!
