The main point is, Lee’s diligence should deserve a gold metal. Taufik and Lin Dan are both genius that they can spend little to gain the best. They got the Gold metal, in Olymics, however Chong Wei not. I really hope he can win Lin Dan in 2012 in London, though I am fans of Taufik. He is in twilight year, and enough honour for him, save all england.

he played so well during the 08 Olympics! XD

LD is at a totally higher level than any world-class badminton players.

lg123xyz May 24, 2010 at 1:23 AM

Ok… sometimes people try to find excuses but LCW just didn’t play as well as LD on this day unfortunately.

Eskn69 May 24, 2010 at 2:05 AM

im just saying.. i heard from some people. n i dont know much abt msia n politics but a huge fan of lcw

Lee Chong Wei, is not a sell-out if thats what you’re implying. He’s always gracious in defeat and a great ambassador to the sport of badminton around the world. I don’t think he’ll see out the chance to win an Olympic Gold medal to make money.

klu501 May 24, 2010 at 2:56 AM

you know, when lin dan threw his racket (celebration) into the crowd, I was thinking that it might’ve hurt someone

NgohOiNei May 24, 2010 at 3:32 AM

You’ve got a point. I agree with you there.

the difference in venue may make an impact wen the skill level of players is similar, in adrew smiths case, unfortunately he isnt good enuf to compete against the best and therefore it doesnt matter whether he plays home or away, a good player will beat him without hessitation even if the crowd were behind him, jus because the skill level of adrew smith is jus not enuf to compete

NgohOiNei May 24, 2010 at 4:12 AM

Either way, if XXF won, LD surely would of HAD to win.

hihiway May 24, 2010 at 4:28 AM

well, playing in the home country could impact the players in both ways..
i would say, if it wasnt for lin dan’s girl friend (xie xingfang) losing in the women singles final, this gold medal might not have been so easy for lin dan

LLNagashi May 24, 2010 at 4:53 AM

what is the background music of this video ??

NgohOiNei May 24, 2010 at 4:54 AM

Highly unlikely, although he DID receive a very large sum of money from the Malaysian government because he was Malaysia’s highest scoring medal at the Olympics.

Eskn69 May 24, 2010 at 5:02 AM

i heard there was some match making with this match, i duno if its true… but they said LCW made more money when he lost this match than if he were to win

met3ors May 24, 2010 at 5:55 AM

baik lah Chong Wei, fighting spirit against the busuk Lin Dan

NgohOiNei May 24, 2010 at 6:50 AM

Thank you xP

Hermantheshame May 24, 2010 at 7:05 AM

U had made a very good point, NgohOiNei, when sportmen play in their home country, they may have a slight psychological advantages, but overall skill is the dominant factor =P

AndriyLaw May 24, 2010 at 7:57 AM

see carefully, i said “one of the main factors’. even soccer got home and away rules, why not? haha

NgohOiNei May 24, 2010 at 8:43 AM

If its the venue that makes the difference, Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng didn’t win at 08 Olympics.

Taufik Hidayat lost the 09 Indonesian Open.

Andrew Smith has never own an All England, as well as most of his compatriots.

AndriyLaw May 24, 2010 at 9:36 AM

this match reflects no real difference between both players. lin dan had full advantage of being at home, can anyone imagine how embarassing it is if lin dan is deprived of the gold medal in front of his own countrymen?? the environment and the crowd support were one of the main factors why lin dan could outclass lee chong wei easily.

bdmntn07 May 24, 2010 at 9:40 AM

yes. so deep into the forehand side, maybe lcw thought it was out but it was just perfect. deceptive too, because lcw (and the crowd lol) thought it was a smash.

i wanna see lin dan’s celebration for this match lol, he threw his SHBs and racket into the crowd.

NgohOiNei May 24, 2010 at 9:45 AM

A very good attacking clear. Lin Dan knew LCW had a bit of trouble scrambling the shuttle back in his backhand forecourt.
